About Doctorcall

Doctorcall was founded in 1989 by Dr Charles Levinson to make first-class medical care easier to access, more personal, and clinically sound.

We pioneered the UK’s first private GP house call service and have continued to evolve.

Today we provide 24/7 GP visits in London, with expansion underway across the UK, alongside in-clinic and video appointments, underpinned by strong clinical governance and high standards of practice.

The Role At A Glance

Doctorcall visiting work is designed to fit around your existing commitments. Most GPs who work with us do so alongside NHS work or other clinical roles. Visits are booked in collaboration with you, within an agreed geography.

What You Will Do

You will visit private patients in their homes, hotels and workplaces for urgent and general primary care presentations that are appropriate for in-person assessment.

You can focus on clinical care without the admin burden. Patients are typically grateful and often more relaxed in their own setting, which supports calm, relationship-based consultations.

How Scheduling Works

Ad hoc and flexible

We book visits around your availability, for example before or after NHS clinics or during free sessions.

Always agreed with you

You decide what times you can see any one patient. Evenings and weekends are optional and only if you want them.

Travel radius

We agree a sensible local radius with you. We recruit only a small number of GPs per area to keep travel practical.

How Visits Are Allocated

Cases are offered based on your geography. A visit is confirmed once the patient is happy with an appointment within your availability.

Support And Governance

Doctorcall handles logistics, governance and billing so you can focus on medicine.

Operational support

You will have access to our 24/7 coordination team for booking support, updates and practical help during a shift.

Clinical governance

You will work under our CQC registration and within our governance framework.

Indemnity

All work undertaken for Doctorcall is indemnified by us.

Admin load

Minimal. We use an app-based workflow and templates, and our central team manages booking, payment and most documentation.

Earnings

Each completed visit is paid at a fixed fee. The exact rate will be shared directly by the Doctorcall team. Because work is paid per visit, you control your workload. There are no joining fees or costs to you.
