Doctorcall Named Finalist In The Lloyds Leading SME Business Of The Year Award 2026

Doctorcall is proud to share that we have been named a finalist for The Lloyds Leading SME Business of the Year Award at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026.

This is a huge moment for our team and a lovely recognition of the care, commitment and hard work behind Doctorcall.

The Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards celebrate businesses across the UK that show strong growth, leadership, innovation, customer focus and a clear plan for the future. For Doctorcall, being shortlisted is a chance to reflect on how far the company has come, while staying close to the service that has always shaped who we are: private GP care built around the patient.

A Proud Moment For The Doctorcall Team

Doctorcall was founded in 1989 and has long been known for private GP home visits. What began as a pioneering private visiting doctor service in London has grown into a wider private GP provider, supporting patients, families, hotels, employers and partner organisations.

Today, Doctorcall provides access to private GP care through home visits, hotel visits, workplace visits, and telephone or video consultations. The service is built for people who need medical support quickly, practically and with the reassurance of speaking to an experienced doctor.

Being named a finalist in a national business award is not just a recognition of growth. It is a recognition of the people behind that growth.

Our doctors, operations team, patient support staff, client teams and wider business teams all play a part in keeping the service running. Much of this work happens quietly in the background: answering calls, coordinating visits, supporting patients, arranging prescriptions, communicating with partners and making sure care is delivered smoothly.

This shortlisting is a proud moment for everyone involved.

Recognition For A Long-Standing Healthcare Business

The Lloyds Leading SME Business of the Year Award recognises small and medium-sized businesses that have built a strong market position, shown consistent growth, invested in their people, listened to customers and continued to improve their services.

For Doctorcall, these themes are closely connected to the work we do every day.

Private GP care is not only about speed. It is also about trust, clinical quality, communication and reliability. Patients often contact Doctorcall when they are unwell, worried, away from home, caring for someone else, or unable to travel easily. In those moments, the service has to feel clear, calm and dependable.

That has remained central to Doctorcall’s work for more than three decades.

At the same time, the business has continued to grow and adapt. Doctorcall now supports a wider range of patients and organisations, including individuals, families, hotels, corporate clients, assistance companies, insurers and international travellers. The service has also expanded beyond London, with private GP care available in more locations across the UK and Ireland.

Growing Beyond London While Keeping Care Personal

As Doctorcall continues to expand, one of the biggest priorities is keeping the service personal.

Growth matters, but in healthcare, growth only means something if patients still feel looked after. Whether someone is arranging a GP visit at home, asking for medical advice while staying in a hotel, or speaking to a doctor by phone or video consultation, the experience should feel practical, human and easy to understand.

That balance between growth and personal care is one of the reasons this recognition means so much to the team.

Doctorcall’s model brings together clinical experience, operational support and flexible access to care. It helps patients get medical advice and treatment in a way that fits around real life, rather than asking them to travel when they are unwell or under pressure.

A Team Effort

This finalist announcement belongs to the whole Doctorcall team.

It reflects the doctors who visit patients at home and in hotels. It reflects the people answering calls and supporting patients at all hours. It reflects the teams working with hotels, employers, assistance partners and healthcare organisations. It reflects the leadership, planning and day-to-day effort that keeps the service moving.

It also reflects the trust placed in Doctorcall by patients and partners over many years.

That trust is never taken lightly.

Looking Ahead To The Awards

The winners of the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026 will be announced at the awards ceremony at Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 10 November 2026.

For now, we are proud to be shortlisted and grateful to everyone who has been part of Doctorcall’s journey.

Being named a finalist for The Lloyds Leading SME Business of the Year Award is a wonderful recognition of the work already done, and an encouragement for the work still ahead.

Thank you to our doctors, team members, partners and patients for helping bring Doctorcall to this point.
