Doctorcall has launched a new live interpretation service, giving patients access to real-time telephone interpreting in over 240 languages. The service is available to all patients using Doctorcall’s housecall and telemedicine services, ensuring language is no longer a barrier to safe, effective care.
The interpreting service allows a live interpreter to join the consultation by phone, enabling clear and professional communication between doctor and patient. It is available on demand, at no additional cost, and requires no advance coordination. Patients or clients simply confirm the required language at the time of booking.
Commonly requested languages include Mandarin, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bengali, Portuguese, Urdu, Indonesian, German, and Japanese, with hundreds more supported.
Available 24/7 across all Doctorcall locations, the service has been fully rolled out across the clinical and support teams, all of whom have been trained to use the system effectively during live calls.
Selvavinayagam Vireswer, CEO of Doctorcall, said:
“This service is a practical step towards more inclusive care. It ensures patients feel heard and understood, even in urgent or unfamiliar situations. By removing language barriers, we’re improving outcomes, reducing risk, and helping our clients offer a consistently high standard of care, wherever their patients may be.”
