Doctorcall experiences highest demand for assistance services

Post-pandemic travel seems to have returned robustly; and Doctorcall, the preferred medical services provider for many of the world’s leading international assistance companies, is seeing its highest demand for its assistance services.Ever since Doctorcall was founded in 1989, our assistance services have been a critical part of our service offer. We designed case management into our proprietary patient record system (One2One). One2One facilitates keeping companies and patients fully updated on how a case is progressing. The medical record is automatically sent to the insurer when a consultation is finished, reducing bureaucracy and ensuring an accurate record for your purposes. As a result, we fully integrate with many global assistance networks and work directly with offices in countries all over the world.

We have taken the drop in international travel during the covid pandemic to reinvest in our product. In addition to our 24/7 house call service in London, we are now able to offer services nationwide:

  • 24/7 Telemedicine. We aim to have a doctor speak to a patient within 60 minutes. Our service is accompanied with ePrescriptions, which are a proven and cost-effective front-line solution for many common ailments. This allows the patient to receive their prescriptions immediately and start the course of treatment far sooner, with all the additional health benefits that provide.
  • Nationwide medical network. Our unique DMA (Doctorcall Medical Assistance) Network service ensures that international clients receive everything that they need as quickly as is feasibly possible, regardless of where they are in the country. Our unrivalled private national network means that we can organise a clinic visit, ensuring timely care for the patient and no organisational work for the insurer or assistance company.

We have been able to enhance these services over the last two years. Our telemedicine product now includes video consultations. Patients can choose between telephone and video consultations. And we have enhanced our DMA Network in the most popular cities by introducing an Assured Network of clinics. These are clinics where we can give a fixed price and quick booking for assistance clients. This service is initially available in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester, with new cities being added all the time.

These investments have been well received by our clients, and with the return on global travel, our volumes are at a record high. Our Q3 2022 assistance volumes were 88% higher than the equivalent period in 2019. We have expanded the team to maintain a high level of service.
